We all know that everyone holds their own story and getting to meet another person’s perspective is a process of emotion and excitement since is not the same way as we perceive the world. So what if we have the chance to encounter those stories every day in a platform that allows to feel like we were engaging into a book with living photography and natural driven thoughts and experiences.

For that and a bit more, Steller was structured for. An application made for the iOS community that was launched at 2014 winning the best app award of that year, originally perceived as the concept alternative to the app Storehouse; it can be used both on iPhone and Ipod Touch, designed by Mombo Labs its purpose is very clear, users can interact with each other in a sort of Instagram community where the sharing factor is about stories.

Your Own Book

Complete with image, videos and text of your own choosing and making, the design of your story is up to you regarding of what you feel like sharing. The app’s interface was done with minimalistic design and it features an artistic tone of elegancy and smoothness, with hints of a slight futuristic style.

The process work like usual social media, there’s a newsfeed of suggestions when you first register that shows you popular storylines that might interest you, also and mostly from people you are connected to; then next to it there’s several categories shown as a sole section called collections where all topics are addressed and several storylines that fall under each category can be found at each of them. That way it gives you an organized system for a daily process of discovery.

The interface is well condensed, you have a dropdown menu to access all the options and actions there are, when you manage your way around the app and you feel like finally creating a new story then the following is pretty easy; choose the first item you want to post whatever it is, text or other media, then select the desired layout (from the app’s feature or personalized) and make the necessary adjustments so your media fits with it smoothly, and you’re done!

The customable details you can change are plenty, for example Steller gives you the way to manipulate how your text and its typography looks like, items like that help users personalize at will and make each of their own posts something unique. You can create several pages, after all it is a story you’re putting together on the community’s web.

Making a living story is the predefined goal of Steller, the whole systems makes each user feel as they are reading a real book and each post they do is like publishing advancements of their own stories till they get it all and go live action. It is indeed a great alternative to pursue in the iOS store app.
